Founded in 2021 and based in southern New Mexico, AgriLand Advisors specializes in the appraisal of agricultural real estate throughout New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona. Our practice focuses on farms, ranches, transitional land, and other rural income-producing properties. We also provide valuations of agricultural chattels, including farm and ranch equipment, livestock, and other operational assets when they are part of an appraisal assignment.
I earned both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Agricultural Business and Agricultural Economics from New Mexico State University. In 2010, I earned the Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) designation from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers in recognition of my experience and qualifications in the valuation of agricultural and rural properties.
Before establishing AgriLand Advisors, I spent more than 16 years with the Farm Credit System, serving as a Staff Appraiser, Chief Appraiser, and Director of Collateral Risk. During that time, I completed and supervised appraisals involving a wide variety of agricultural properties and specialty assets across the Southwest. My experience also includes the valuation of agricultural chattels, including farm and ranch machinery, heavy equipment, livestock, manufacturing equipment, and other tangible personal property associated with agricultural operations.
In addition to my appraisal practice, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at New Mexico State University, where I teach Real Estate Appraisal. The course introduces students to the principles and methods of real estate valuation, with an emphasis on practical applications and the role appraisal plays in lending, investment, agricultural economics, and real estate decision-making.
