I started my career as a farm manager from 1977 to 1979, then spent the next 22 years in the appraisal, real estate brokerage and farm management business with my own company and as an independent contractor with Farmers National Company. In 2001 I joined Farm Credit Services of America as a real estate and chattel appraiser. I retired from Farm Credit Services of America in June 2016. Since that time I have been doing part-time appraisal work as Harris Appraisal Services. I am a certified general real estate appraiser in Iowa and Missouri.
