Delane Atcitty started his agricultural journey on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, and later when on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-Business from Oklahoma Panhandle State University and a Master of Science Degree in Ranch Management/Agri-Business from Texas A&M-Kingsville the King Ranch Institute.
Delane has worked in all segments of the cattle industry from cow-calf, stocker, and finishing cattle at the feedlot segment. Delane also has experience managing bison for the Nature Conservancy focusing on biodiversity and ecosystem management. As the current Executive Director for Indian Nations Conservation Alliance his major projects include tribal conservation youth corps projects, a large-scale virtual fencing project, creating an INCA Trading App to reestablish ancient tribal trading of natural resources, Climate Smart grant projects utilizing tribal resources to add value to the normally commodity sold livestock, and starting the Indigenous Grazing Lands Coalition as a hub for the 55 million acres of tribal rangeland.
Delane also recently served as a Board of Director for Navajo Agricultural Products Industry a 110,000-acre tribal farm utilizing 700 plus pivots located in Farmington, New Mexico, where he was instrumental in establishing the custom grazing program to aid in adding value to tribal cattle and initiating the regenerative ag practice of focusing on soil health. He currently is a Board of Director for Holistic Management International Inc., and Advisory Board Member for the National Grazing Lands Coalition. Other duties include Board of Director for the Society for Range Management 1st Vice President and the Native Seeds Needs and Capacity Committee for the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. Delanes goal is to start the first Native American owned Native Branded Beef business collaborating with multiple tribal ranchers all through the United States to raise grass finished, low stressed, no hormone, no antibiotic, regenerative ag produced beef.
