I graduated from Purdue University with an Agricultural Economics degree in December 1983 and began working with Halderman Farm Management Services at the beginning of 1984. I worked mostly in farm real estate from 1984 to 1986 when we moved to Ohio to manage farms in southwestern Ohio and southeastern Indiana. Having the opportunity to continue our family farming operation, we moved back to Huntington, IN in 1989 where I farmed, managed farms and began working on my certified general appraisal license and my ARA. I earned my CG license in 1992 and my ARA in 1996. Halderman asked me to add the Michigan territory to my management load and I worked that area for eight years. Halderman was involved in a large project in Texas and asked me to help so I worked on that project until 2006 when I was promoted to Vice President of Halderman Real Estate Services, a position I still hold.
I am very active in the Indiana chapter as a two time President and member of the board for over 30 years. I served one term on the ASFMRA Ethics committee and served one year as the chair. In 2023 I was appointed to the Executive Council representing Indiana, Michigan and Illinois.
My wife, Sara, and I have three grown daughters and seven grandchildren. We are blessed they all live nearby and we see them often. Sara and I love to travel and particulariy enjoy winter trips to warmer climates.
