Mr. Marschall is from a fourth-generation California farm family. He has been involved in both production agriculture since 1978 and real estate advisory, consultation, valuation, and transactional services since 1983. From 1983 to 1987, he worked as an associate appraiser with California Real Estate Counseling Group. In 1987, he formed Marschall & Associates, an independent real estate consulting and appraisal firm, and in 1990, Mr. Marschall joined with Ken Wilson, MAI, to form Wilson Marschall Associates, Inc. In 1997, Marschall & Associates merged with Dor & Curry, Inc. to form Dor, Curry, & Marschall, Inc., a full-service valuation and advisory firm. In 1999, Dor, Curry, & Marschall, Inc. became the San Diego office for Integra Realty Resources with offices in Orange County and partners in Los Angeles. In the fall of 2005, Mr. Marschall joined the Valuation & Advisory Services Group of Cushman & Wakefield of California, Inc. and became an Executive Managing Director in the newly launched San Diego County office. From 2015 until 2022 Mr. Marschall was the Executive Managing Director and Senior Vice President at CBRE leading the Agribusiness and Natural Resources practice. He is currently a Senior Vice President and Specialty Practice leader for Land and Agribusiness for Kidder Mathews. Kidder Mathews is the largest independently owned Brokerage and Valuation Firm on the West Coast covering Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona and Nevada allowing Mr. Marschall to focus on the Western United States near his home in San Diego. EXPERIENCE
Mr. Marschall is a land expert with nearly 40 years of experience who has provided brokerage, consultation, and appraisal services in a wide variety of property types focusing on large, complex properties and institutional-grade assets. Mr. Marschall earned the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 1992, and the AI-GRS (Accredited Review Appraiser) from the Appraisal Institute. He also holds the ARA Designation (Accredited Rural Appraiser) from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). Mr. Marschall is also a California Licensed Real Estate Broker #01035488.
Including 20 years of experience directing Land and Agribusiness practices at the two largest, global real estate firms; assignments included production Agribusiness, farms, ranches, permanent plantings, rural properties, transitional land, environmentally sensitive land, and both mineral and water rights. More specialized assets include horticulture and industrial agricultural assets, rock/aggregate quarries, landfills, infrastructure, and energy projects (wind and solar).
He has also provided extensive dispute and litigation support including condemnation appraisal, damages litigation, appraisal review, and general real estate advisory.
