Bio

Charlotte Mitchell is the executive director of the California Farmland Trust and has served in this capacity since 2017. She lives in Elk Grove with her husband Ken who is a fifth-generation farmer, and their two sons. She was born and raised on a commercial sheep and cattle operation on the Sonoma County coast and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in ag business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The California Farmland Trust assists interested landowners who wish to see their land protected for agricultural use with a tool called an agricultural conservation easement. Part of her motivation for doing what she does is with the commitment and passion to ensure the next generation can be in production agriculture. Like her boys, who have an interest to farm, I want to help ensure that farmland exists for this generation and many more generations to come. She loves working with great people who share the same values of agricultural conservation.
