Hannah grew up on a cow calf and burley tobacco farm in east-central Kentucky. She went on to earn a B.S. in both Agricultural Economics and Animal Science from the University of Kentucky. She earned an M.S. in both Agricultural Economics and Rural Development through the University of Arkansas, which included studying abroad in Belgium, Slovakia, and Senegal. After completing her M.S. she went on to work in Extension with the University of Maryland, where she was the Faculty Educator and Program Coordinator for the Beginning Farmer Program. Hannah then returned to the University of Arkansas to serve as an instructor. After teaching there for two years, she went on to Kansas State University to earn her PhD in Agricultural Economics. As a graduate student Hannah won several awards including outstanding Extension Programming and the Policy Communication Award through the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA). She was the Kansas State Graduate School commencement speaker in 2020 and was recognized by the KSU Alumni Association with an award for her outstanding leadership and service as the Graduate Student Council President. Hannah joined Oklahoma State University in 2021 as an Assistant Professor. She teaches several courses, including her favorite, Farm Management. She has a passion for teaching and agricultural production, which has led her to be recognized by OSU with the Early Career Award for her excellence in teaching. Hannah looks forward to getting more involved with ASFMRA as an academic member.
