Winter Ag Tour
The Idaho–Utah Chapter of the ASFMRA Winter Ag Tour provides participants with an in-depth look at the agricultural and natural resource industries that shape Canyon County and the Treasure Valley region. This homegrown tour highlights the diversity of Idaho agriculture—from largescale produce operations to value-added processing and renewable hydropower. Participants will visit Owyhee Produce in Parma, Koenig Distillery in Caldwell’s Sunnyslope region, and Swan Falls Dam on the Snake River. Between destinations, Scott Calhoun, MAI, will provide commentary on land use trends, commodity markets, irrigation and water management, and development pressures influencing agricultural real estate in southwestern Idaho. He has worked on many high-profile projects in this market as an appraiser in eminent domain takings, as a realtor in land transactions and as a consultant helping property owner’s maximize their property values. This hands-on educational experience connects participants with producers and professionals working at the intersection of production, processing, and resource management.
