Engaging with Policy Makers to Shape the Future of Our Professions

This program promises an enriching experience of engaging with policymakers and industry experts. Here's a glimpse of the activities below:

• Meetings with Administration officials to discuss current issues in farm management and property evaluation. In the past, these meetings have involved prominent figures such as the Secretary and/or Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, USDA program administrators, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Farm Credit Administration.
• Meetings with decision-makers on Capitol Hill, including the Chair of the House Agriculture Committee, Congressional Representatives active on agriculture issues, and key Committee staff.
• Opportunities to interact with key influencers of agriculture policy, encompassing commodity and farm group representatives, along with Farm Credit Council leaders. Appraisers will also have the chance to meet with the Appraisal Foundation staff.
• Social and networking opportunities with fellow members, including an opening reception, group dinner, and night trolley tour of D.C., optional social activity, group photos in front of the Capitol Building
• Visits with your Congressional delegation (House and Senate).

Lodging: The New Royal Sonesta Washington, DC Capitol Hill

Transportation: Flights and transportation to and from the airport are at the cost of the attendee. Cabs, ride share, and the Metro are all sufficient options from Ronald Regan Airport

Registration Details:

• Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis for the first 20 registrants. The subsequent registrants will be placed on a waitlist.
• Attendance at LEX at Ed week is required; however, exceptions will be made for scheduling conflicts on a case-by-case basis.
• The event cost is estimated to be $1,595 per person. Exact pricing details will be shared soon.
• Registration includes:
• Three nights at the recently opened, 4.5-star Royal Sonesta Washington, DC Capitol Hill – the first new hotel in Capitol Hill in 40 years.
• A private night troll tour of DC for the LEX group.
• Two group dinners and most other meals
• Priceless learning opportunities from top government officials, including Administration officials, Capitol Hill decision-makers, and influential agriculture policy influencers.
