The Economic and Legal Issues Facing Large-Scale Solar and Agrivoltaics: A Landowner’s Guide presentation provides rural appraisers and farm managers with a practical overview of key considerations when evaluating solar leasing opportunities. The session explores how lease terms shape long-term income, land use, and farm operations, and walks through common legal provisions, including payment structures, option periods, decommissioning, and liability. It also introduces agrivoltaics as an emerging option that enables continued agricultural production alongside energy development, helping landowners assess the benefits and risks before entering into a lease.
