ASFMRA Committee Descriptions

Overview

The Appraisal Education and Accreditation Committee shall:

  • Update as needed the curricula required for each designation
  • Update and administer the examinations for the Accredited Rural Appraiser and the Real Property Review Appraiser designations to those who have made proper application and have met the requirements outlined in the Bylaws and Policies
  • Assist with the identification of course and seminar topics and oversee the development of all course and seminar content
  • Update as needed the demonstration report criteria, requirements, and approval process

Overview

The Bylaws Committee periodically reviews the ASFMRA Articles of Incorporation, Code of Ethics, Standards of Professional Practice, Bylaws, and Policy and Procedure Manual as needed or requested by the Executive Council. They may make recommendations for amendments when needed. Committee will consist of no more than seven members.

Overview

The Ethics and Standards Committee has the duty to enforce principles that guide the relationship between members of the Society and their clients; between fellow members of the Society; and between the Society and the general public. The Ethics and Standards Committee, in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice, shall, upon receipt of a written complaint, or upon its own initiative, investigate and make recommendations, or take appropriate action upon any matters of ethical or professional conduct.

Overview

Government Relations Committee may report to the Society on legislation and/or regulations affecting the Society and/or its clientele and to develop programs supporting or opposing the same in accordance with the objectives of the Society. The Government Relations Committee will consist of no more than nine members and shall have a representative member from each of the Districts. There shall be two Co-Chairs – one who holds the ARA designation and one who holds either the AFM or AAC or both AFM, AAC designation(s).

Overview

The Young Professionals Network is dedicated to making a positive difference in the professions of agriculture management, appraisal and consulting through premier leadership, career development and personal success while transitioning to the next generation of leadership.

The Young Professionals Leadership Committee meets monthly on the first Thursday of the month via conference call, zoom, or other digital technology to coordinate younger member engagement, programs, and overall growth.
