  • Farmland values soften, but Hoosier State in Top 5

    While farmland values are projected to decline this year, Indiana remains in the top five states in per acre value, according to a national agricultural landowner services company.

    The state of Washington is again expected to lead the nation with a $13,200 average sale price per acre of high-quality land in 2018, while Illinois ranks second at $11,200 per acre, with Iowa third at $10,500.

    Indiana and Nebraska are expected to tie at $9,000 average sale price per acre of high-quality land this year, according to a Farmers National Company agency survey.
