Are you an independent appraiser or own a small firm? Will you know how to ensure that your business model is not based on waiting for the phone to ring but rather working to ensure that your phone never stops ringing? The business of appraisal – a topic that is rarely, if ever discussed.

Speaker: Barry Lebow

About the Speaker:
Starting in real estate sales in 1968, Barry Lebow has evolved into one of Canada's most recognized real estate professionals. A grade 10 dropout, Barry’s real estate interests inspired him to attend university and college night schools, where he earned 20 recognized real estate designations. He has appeared as an expert witness across five real estate fields in 600 trials in Canada and the United States, many dealing with appraisal, stigma or agency matters. A featured real estate columnist, his articles circulate across Canada and around the world. As a popular guest speaker and instructor, Barry is an international speaker and has appeared before real estate and legal audiences. With minimal funding he started a one-man appraisal firm and over the years developed it into one of the largest boutique firms in Canada with 33 on staff. Barry earned three appraisal designations over his 30 years of appraising. His assignments took him across North America with his last major assignment involving litigation for thousands of properties in Texas. Barry sold his shares in the appraisal firm 11 years ago and returned to his passion, selling real estate. He is a RE/MAX broker today and a specialist in the senior field. He has completed more than 144 senior moves, from downsizing to estates, and is a RE/MAX Hall of Fame Winner. He serves as an advisor on boards and to various Canadian charities and has for most of his career.
