What’s Happening With the Farm Bill?

When:  Mar 24, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (MT)

The farm bill expires this year, and Congress is gearing up to write the next one. Join us for a presentation with Stephen Frerichs, who will cover the key players on Capitol Hill and in the Administration, as well as their priorities in relation to the farm bill. Stephen will address the primary concerns, including: what does the farm bill budget look like? What are the critical issues, and changes that are likely? What are the political land mines that need to be traversed in order to successfully pass a bill and have the President sign it into law?

Speaker: Stephen Frerichs is the ASFMRA’s Government Relations Representative and owns and operates his own consulting company, AgVantage LLC in Alexandria, Virginia. Stephen specializes in budget, agricultural and credit issues and has over 30 years of agricultural policy experience in Washington, D.C., including serving as a senior program examiner and Deputy Branch Chief in the Agriculture Branch with the Office of Management and Budget for nearly eight years.
