Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions

Day 1 & 2 - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Day 3 - 8:00 am - Noon + 2 hour optional exam

This 3-day course is designed to provide students with an increased understanding of the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions, Sixth Edition.

This “Yellow Book” course is based on the 2016 Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions. It provides participants the opportunity to

  • understand better the current edition of the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions,
  • demonstrate an increased knowledge about the application of the appraisal process to valuation assignments for federal land acquisitions,
  • evaluate the content and level of information and analysis required to communicate the results of an appraisal prepared for federal land acquisitions, and;
  • connect the legal foundation/rationale/guidance that govern recurring valuation problems and specialized appraisal issues unique to federal land acquisitions.

The objectives are met through a combination of lecture, discussion, problems, and case studies. While the primary focus is, of course, on the UASFLA (Yellow Book), the Uniform Relocation and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (Uniform Act) and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) are also discussed.

Cancellation Policy
Prior to February 13, there will be a $25 cancellation fee. February 14 - 26, there will be a $50 cancellation fee.
