$18,300-an-acre for East-Central Iowa Cropland
From LandOwner

The right combination of quality cropland and aggressive neighbors is still capable of driving land prices to new record highs. That’s in spite of a market that, in our view, is cooling.

Case in point is the June 15 auction of 154 acres of nearly all tillable farmland south of Van Horne in Benton Co., Iowa. The soils were top notch, with an average Corn Suitability Rating (100 maximum) of 85.3. That compares to the county average of 72.8. The property was offered as two parcels and as a single unit. The farmstead was not offered for sale. Dan Kaestner, Kaestner Real Estate Sales & Auctions, Iowa Realty, Cedar Rapids, handled the auction. Farmland prices: How do today’s values differ from ‘bubbles’ of past?
Hembree Brandon | Delta Farm Press

For some farmers, maybe, says Brian Briggeman, associate professor and director of the Arthur Capper Cooperative Center at Kansas State University.
